Get in on the Poker Action With Casino Hold'em

If all of the types of casino poker out there, Casino Hold'em is probably one of the games that players get attracted to the most because of its relation to the absurdly popular Texas Hold'em variation of multi-player table poker. The single-player version of this game requires a great deal of strategy, so it's a good choice for players who enjoy poker games that make you think. We want to introduce you to the rules of this game and the basic tenets of strategy so that you can get started off on the right foot with Casino Hold'em.

The way this starts out is that you place a bet called an ante, and then you're dealt two cards with three community cards (ie: the flop) on the table. The dealer has two cards face-down as well. At this point in the hand, you'll need to decide whether to fold or call. Calling has you place a call bet that's worth twice the size of the ante. If you call, two more cards are dealt, and the dealer has to qualify with at least a pair of fours. If the dealer doesn't make that, then you get a payout on your ante and the call pushes. If the dealer does qualify, winning gives you an ante payout based on a table and you get 1:1 on the call. Losing after the dealer qualifies has you lose both your ante and call bets.

Strategy in this game is all about picking out the best possible hands that you have when you're facing the flop and looking at your overall ability to make good hands when the turn and river come. Overall, you'll want to fold your worse 20 percent of hands or so. If you fold more than this, then you're folding too much.

As far as which hands you need to fold and which you need to call, you're almost always going to be folding situations with no pair and no draw. If you have overcards to the flop, however, then those can be sufficient to call with, and this is moreso the case if there is a two or a three on the flop since the dealer pairing one of those cards does not mean that he qualifies. Overall, this is an excellent game with a lot of room for strategic development that skill game players will love.
